Meet Triston

On the School Board, Triston is working hard to build a Culver City Unified School District that works for everyone.

Triston Ezidore is a Culver City native, a product of our public schools, and a current member of the Board of Education focused on delivering results for students and families.

As a School Board Member, Triston has helped drive record-high graduation rates and stronger academic outcomes across the district, while keeping equity at the center of his work.

He has championed record investments in arts education and career technical education (CTE), expanding access to programs that prepare all students for college and careers. He has also prioritized student safety, mental health, and closing opportunity gaps so every student has the support they need to succeed. He has been a strong advocate for teachers and school staff, pushing to ensure they are supported, valued, and equipped with the resources they need to succeed.

As Board President, Triston has led with a focus on equity, accountability, and results. He has helped secure new resources for local schools, strengthened partnerships with the City, and ensured investments are reaching the students and communities that need them most.

He has also stood up for students and families by pushing back against harmful federal policies, including actions from the Trump administration and threats impacting immigrant communities.

Outside of public office, Triston works in government partnerships at a fleet electrification company, helping school districts and municipalities transition their vehicles to clean energy. His work is part of a broader effort to tackle the climate crisis by reducing emissions, improving air quality for students and communities, and lowering long-term costs for public agencies.

Triston believes our schools should work for every student and every family. He lives in the Fox Hills neighborhood of Culver City and stays closely connected to the community, with a younger brother in the school district.

Advancing Equity

As a Board Member, Triston helped lead one of the district’s most important equity initiatives by advancing the Black Student Achievement Plan. He worked to ensure the district focused resources, accountability, and targeted support on improving outcomes for Black students, with a specific emphasis on closing gaps in math and reading. This effort reflects his commitment to turning values into action and making sure every student has the opportunity to succeed.

Passing $358 Million Facilities Bond

Triston was instrumental in passing a $358 million school facilities bond to fix our schools and modernize classrooms across Culver City. He helped build the community support needed to get it done and deliver real investment in local students. As Board President, he oversaw the first phase of implementation, helping ensure these funds are put to work upgrading campuses, improving learning environments, and addressing long-overdue infrastructure needs.

Record High Graduation Rates

Under Triston’s leadership, Culver City Unified reached a 97.2% graduation rate, a 3.6 percentage point increase from the previous year. He has focused on improving student achievement by investing in early literacy, expanding academic supports, and ensuring students get targeted help when they need it. The district has also prioritized mental health and social-emotional support, alongside resources like literacy coaches, reading specialists, and a strong college and career center. Triston has emphasized removing barriers while expanding opportunity, making sure every student is supported, seen, and set up for success.

Championing Mental Health

Triston has made student mental health a top priority, working successfully to expand access to counseling, strengthen social-emotional supports, and ensure every student has the resources they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom. He has advocated for increased investment in mental health services, supported the integration of wellness programs across schools, and pushed for a more proactive, prevention-focused approach.
